Lakes Baseball Summer Camp with Coach Mark Avery - Summer 2025

ANOTHER NEW ADDITION FOR 2025! Join professional coach Mark Avery and his team for the first ever Lakes Baseball Summer Camp at Hickory Glen Park. Coach Avery, training baseball players at all levels for over 30 years, played professional baseball and served as the Detroit Tigers bullpen catcher. Mark was also a minor league all-star twice and has coached several players who have been drafted by professional baseball teams and received collegiate scholarships. He also led the popular Player Development Clinics for Lakes this past winter. 

This camp will run from 9 AM to 3 PM June 23rd to 26th on the Hickory Glen fields. The schedule daily will be as follows:

- 9 AM to 12 Noon - Basic skills, baserunning, all positions

- 12 Noon to 12:30 - LUNCH

- 12:30 to 3 PM - Fundamentals of games, techniques of hitting

Campers will need to bring sack lunch, fielders glove, bats, batting gloves, helmets, cleats, water bottle and sunscreen. Catchers gear if needed. Plan to get dozens of swings and field tons of ground balls. 

This camp is open to players ages 7 through 12 (age as of June 23rd, first day of camp).
**Exceptions to the age requirement can be made for players enrolled in Lakes' 7U or 8U summer baseball program by contacting Lakes directly at registration@lakesathletics.org. 

Registration fee: $260 (regular) $265 (late)

*No camp on Friday, June 27th unless needed as rain date.

House - Fall 2025 - Fall 2025

Lakes Athletics Fall Ball registration is now open for players and volunteer coaches. Lakes fall season offers a full complement of baseball for the 5U – High School divisions including a 7U player/coach pitch level NEW to the fall season!

All players will receive a hat and jersey with registration. Hoodies and other apparel will be available for additional purchase through our Team SpiritWear Store.  Kids are sorted to play in the same divisions they will be playing in next Spring season (division cutoff date is 4/30/26).  

Typically, there will be one weekday practice with games on Friday nights in September and Sundays through mid-October. We are targeting the third week of August to assign teams, and coaches will reach out to their team shortly after that with the game/practice schedule. It will be a 9-game regular season, with the first games on Friday, September 5th. 

Practices will begin in late August (at the discretion of team coaches). There will be All-Star Games at the 8U and 10U level scheduled for Saturday, October 18th and playoff games (at select levels) scheduled for Saturday, October 25th and/or Sunday, October 26th.

Most home games will be at Hickory Glen Park, although some games may be located at Long Field, Janowski Park or Shepherd of the Lakes Field.  Certain levels may partner with a neighboring organization for a crossover game or two as needed.

2025 Lakes Summer Baseball

5U-10U Summer League

NEW for 2025- additional levels, 8U and 10U will be offered. Similar to our spring and fall seasons, we will offer the player pitch/coach pitch level (8U) as well as the 10U player pitch level. In addition, we will offer a 5U tee-ball (3.5 to 5 year olds), a 6U tee-ball/coach pitch level, and a 7U advanced coach pitch level perfect for players bridging the gap between 6U spring and 8U fall. 

Games will begin Wednesday, July 9th. Teams may have a few practices before that at the coach's discretion. Games will be played on Monday and Wednesday evenings with Thursday being used as a rain date. No weekend games will be played and no weekend practices scheduled so families can enjoy summer weekends. The summer season will include nine games. Games will primarily be at Hickory Glen Park but some games could be at Long Field or Shepherd of the Lakes field nearby. 8U games may occur at -both- Hickory Glen and at Janowski Park in Milford.

Your registration provides hats and jersey only. We will NOT be supplying pants with registration. We will have pants and sweatshirts available in our spiritwear store. You can also purchase pants during our Dunham's 20% off discount weekend prior to the start of the season.

12/14U Summer Instructional Academy

Also NEW for 2025 - 14/16U coach Trevor Black and other coaches will conduct a station-based instructional academy for players 11-15 who are looking to improve over the summer in advance of joining a Lakes 12U or 14U fall house team. The academy will occur on Mondays 7/14, 7/21, 7/28 and 8/4 along with Wednesdays 7/30 and 8/6 from 6-8:30 PM and split time between drills/practice before spending the second half on game situations/scrimmages to get live AB reps. Players will be provided with a Lakes dri-fit shirt along with the registration.

Lakes Summer Baseball Academy - Summer I 2025

NEW for 2025: Lakes Summer Baseball Academy

Based on our successful and popular Lakes Spring Training program, this is a new opportunity for our house players age 6 to 9 to build on their skill set in an easy to fit into your schedule summer format - Sunday afternoons 4:30-6:30 PM. Held at our newly opened and freshly renovated satellite fields at Carrie Janowski Park in the village of Milford, Lakes Summer Baseball Academy will be a two-hour long clinic held on Sunday late afternoons that will include a 60-minute station based practice in fielding, hitting and throwing followed by 60 minutes of game-based reps in a coach pitch format. Players will be organized by skill level and age.

This clinic is a great bridge between our spring and our summer or fall house seasons, and could serve as a good refresher for players looking to tryout for the LCB Legends 8U and 9U travel teams over the summer.

3 initial sessions are scheduled and space is limited. Each registration is separate, sign up for one or all three! Registration also comes with a Lakes t-shirt that is perfect for wearing to practices during an upcoming Lakes season!
